Sidwell Friends, a coeducational Quaker day school in Washington, DC, seeks a full-time Biology teacher for its Upper School division (grades 9-12) starting in the 2021-2022 school year.

In addition to teaching both introductory and advanced levels of Biology, the ideal candidate will be able to teach an introductory course in another Science discipline (chemistry, physics). The successful candidate will participate in ongoing curricular innovation and technology integration within the department. An undergraduate degree in Biology (or a related discipline) is required; a graduate degree is preferred. Prior teaching experience in Biology is also required. The successful candidate will be a constructive collaborator with other teachers, have a sense of humor, enjoy working with all members of an educational community, and thrive in a fast-paced work environment. The most desirable candidates will also be able to demonstrate proficiency using digital and online platforms for remote instruction as well as proven effectiveness as a classroom teacher in a brick-and-mortar setting. Teaching positions at Sidwell Friends School are campus-based; therefore, this position requires teaching in person.
