The department is especially interested in candidates with expertise in the areas of Principles of Marketing and Digital Marketing.

Those with expert knowledge in other marketing disciplines may also be considered.

Description of the Department or Unit

Marketing & Supply Chain Management is currently the largest department (in terms of undergraduate degree-seeking students) of six in the John A. Walker College of Business. The approximately 700 declared Marketing majors who complete the required coursework in Marketing receive a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree. There are currently three concentrations offered – General Marketing, Professional Selling, and Digital Marketing. Business students can earn minors in Professional Selling, Digital Marketing, and Supply Chain Management. Minors in Marketing, Professional Selling, and Digital Marketing are also offered to non-business majors. Graduate-level courses are offered in the MBA / MS in Analytics program. The Marketing & Supply Chain Management Department consists of 15 tenured/ tenure track positions and 9 adjunct faculty. The Walker College of Business is one of the largest public business schools for undergraduate students in the University of North Carolina system.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Instructional duties may include curriculum development, online, and in-person instruction. The teaching load is 4 class sections per semester (usually with no more than 2 preps). Lecturer will be expected to fulfill service requirements as well.
