Ph.D./ DBA in Marketing from an AACSB accredited university.

Candidates who are ABD will be considered, but the position requires completion of all doctoral degree requirements in Marketing by the start of employment (August 1, 2021).

The department is especially interested in candidates with teaching and research interests in the areas of distribution channels, business-to-business marketing, sales management among other upper level marketing classes.

Description of the Department or Unit

Marketing & Supply Chain Management is currently the largest (in terms of undergraduate degree-seeking students) of the six departments in the John A. Walker College of Business. The approximately 700 declared Marketing majors who complete the required coursework in Marketing receive a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree. There are currently three concentrations offered – General Marketing, Professional Selling, and Digital Marketing. Business students can earn minors in Professional Selling and Supply Chain Management. Minors in Marketing, Professional Selling, and Digital Marketing are also offered to non-business majors. Graduate-level courses are offered in the MBA / MS in Analytics programs. The Marketing & Supply Chain Management Department consists of 15 tenured/ tenure track positions and 9 adjunct faculty. The Walker College of Business is one of the largest public business schools for undergraduate students in the University of North Carolina system.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Instructional duties may include curriculum development, online, and fully residential instruction as well as teaching in the MBA / MS in Analytics programs. The teaching load is 3 class sections per semester (usually with no more than 2 preps) with a course release in the new faculty member’s first semester. Faculty will be expected to fulfill both research and service requirements as well.
