Position Primary Purpose and General Responsibilities

The objective of this position is to provide expert technical assistance in a neurobiology laboratory in the Department of neurology. This position will support the success of grant applications and manuscript publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals through the design and implementation of experiments involving specialized research procedures. Such technical support will help the Principal Investigator obtain and maintain federal funding which will enhance the stature and funding level of the department as well as the individual laboratory.

Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy is a progressive and debilitating disease. There is growing interest in the role of neuronal-glial interaction and on the individual role of glial cells on neuronal development. These interactions and individual cell types may constitute potential treatment targets. The overall aim of our laboratory is to understand how dystrophin deficiency affects neuronal and glial development, and their
