Job Description:

 

The Department of Nursing invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track position in Nursing (#F0290) to begin in August 2021.

 

The successful candidate will teach courses in a four-year pre-licensure BSN program and/or post licensure RN-BSN program. Responsibilities will also include classroom and direct clinical/lab instruction, curriculum development and evaluation, academic advising, scholarly activity, and service to the department and university. Professional competence must be maintained through activities such as clinical nursing practice, continuing education programs, and participation in conferences, workshops, and/or seminars.

 

The mission of the Nursing program at Longwood is to promote excellence in nursing education and clinical competency, promote the development of citizen leaders in the nursing profession, while also meeting the needs of a changing health care system. It is our hope that our students and faculty will be able to improve the health in the communities that we serve.

 

Requirements:

 

The successful candidate will possess a Master’s of Science in Nursing, eligibility for an unencumbered RN licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia, and current clinical expertise. The ideal candidate will have prior teaching experience at the BSN level, a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and possess strong communication skills. A demonstrated ability and commitment to working with a diverse group of students, faculty, staff, and constituents in support of the university mission is preferred.

 

Additional Information:

This is a full-time, non-tenure-track, instructional faculty position. Salary will be commensurate with credentials and experience.
