Position Will Report To
Chair, Department of Engineering Technology
Duties and Responsibilities
- Teach courses in surveying and other areas as expertise
allows; may include face-to-face, online, field-based courses, and
- Serve as coordinator for the Surveying program.
- Lead the organization of the new surveying program, curriculum proposals, grant applications, and other documents as needed to get the program started.
- Coordinate the collection and analysis of assessment data for internal use, for the Industrial Advisory Council Meetings, and for ABET accreditation.
- Committee assignments as determined by Department Chair and Dean.
- Academic advising duties as assigned.

Minimum Expectations (Faculty/FEAP/NC)
Instruction and evaluation; student advising; committee assignments; faculty meetings; consultation; in-service programs; preparation for teaching; professional and scholarly development; research; performs other appropriate duties as assigned and as necessary; prepares and delivers instruction in all formats and methodologies as assigned and as necessary; attends institutional events and represents work department, school or college at such events; assists in student recruiting process and events for institution and/or work unit; adheres to and complies with all relevant federal, state and local laws; abides by Board of Governors and HEPC policies and rules, as relevant and appropriate; if assigned a State purchasing card, abides by all purchasing rules and provisions and reports/balances account as required or directed; adheres to all institutional policies and guidelines, including the provisions of the employee's relevant employee handbook; adheres to and complies with relevant provisions of the WV State Ethics Act; adheres to the provisions of FERPA; follows, adheres to and abides by all established State and University travel policies; adheres to all safety rules and provisions; reports any personal accidents/injuries or accidents/injuries of assigned staff to HR by end of work day or work shift; acknowledges responsibility as a mandatory reporter and reports all incidents under Title IX and Title VII of the United States Code to the proper Fairmont State University personnel; abides by the employee-reporting provisions of the FMLA and ADA; completes all assigned employee training and completes all required performance evaluations timely, completely and accurately.

Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, Geography, or other related field. Master of Science degree required for tenure.

Possession of Professional Land Surveyor License.

One year of college teaching and four years of industry experience preferred.
