eLearning Producer

General summary/purpose:
The eLearning Producer will provide conceptual, analytical, creative, technical, and editorial input, through graphic design, interactive project development and in the development of video productions as well as related written materials, to support development of educational content for courses. The Producer will help maintain all standards for production quality, instructional quality, brand alignment, and accessibility adherence.

This individual will have a proven record of acting in an assistant producing, directing, and, supporting the creation of broadcast-quality multimedia productions. The successful candidate must be extremely organized, creative, capable of leading tasks from planning to completion, and able to work with a multitude of personalities and topics, ranging from individual, personal stories to complex research subjects.

Candidates for this position should be prepared to provide a portfolio of work as a part of the interview process.

This position may work remotely. May be required to be on-site at the Harbor East or DC campus up to 40% of the time.

Multiple Positions Available

Specific duties & responsibilities:
Course Media Production [65%]

  • Assist the multimedia supervisor in forecasting media resources in order to develop a media plan for all projects.
  • Set and maintain production schedules.
  • Assist stakeholders by developing deliverables, setting timelines and meeting the individual media project timelines for all stages of production.
  • Collaborate to complete pre-production tasks which can include: developing scripts, editing power point presentations for brand standards and accessibility.
  • Review all media content to ensure content adheres to Carey’s strategic vision for: brand, quality, accessibility.
  • Assist in planning all aspects of production shoots – i.e. book studio, locations, send calendar invites to stakeholders, coordinate recordings with external talent, etc.
  • Order and prepare products and necessary items for shoot days.
  • Ensure all archival processes are followed to close out a project.
  • Place requests for external contract work needed to complete course media projects.

Quality Assurance of 3rd Party Developers [10%]

  • Coordinate with 3rd Party Developers as needed.
  • Reviews 3rd party content for quality and consistency as needed.
  • Oversee Studio Scheduling [10%]
  • Manage all studio project reservations to ensure no conflicts are scheduled and that appropriate turnaround times are factored for different recording setups.

Media Management [10%]

  • Ensure all produced content and project files are archived in accordance with our policies
  • Manage access and use of all media resources across projects. Resources may include: stock photo download limits, stock music, etc.

Minimum qualifications (mandatory):

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years’ experience in video production management and graphic design or other related experience required. Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
  • Excellent oral, written and visual communication skills required. Specific knowledge of documentary filming and lighting techniques and Adobe Premiere and Photoshop is required. Knowledge of digital file formats and a comprehensive knowledge of graphic design principles and production methods are also required.

  • Able to work independently and cooperatively with others and managing multiple projects at once with minimal supervision.

This may include documentation of having two (2) MMR vaccines; two (2) Varicella vaccines; or antibody status to these diseases from laboratory testing. Blood tests for immunities to these diseases are ordinarily included in the pre-employment physical exam except for those employees who provide results of blood tests or immunization documentation from their own health care providers. Any vaccinations required for these diseases will be given at no cost in our Occupational Health office.
