The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga College of Engineering and Computer Science invites applications for two full-time, non-tenure-track Lecturer positions in Computer Science beginning August 1, 2021.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering offers degrees at the BS, MS, and PhD levels as follows:

  • BS degree in Computer Science
    • Concentrations: Software Systems, Data Science, STEM Education, Cyber Security
  • BSCpE degree in Computer Engineering
  • MS degree in Computer Science
    • Concentrations: Computer Science, Data Science, Cyber Security
  • MS degree in Data Analytics (a joint program with the Rollins College of Business)
    • Tracks: Computer Science, Business
  • PhD in Computational Science, Computer Science concentration


The successful candidate will be expected to teach in Computer Science .

Qualifications :

A successful candidate will possess the following requirements:

  • MS or a higher degree in Computer Science or a closely-related field.
  • Ability to teach introductory/advanced courses in Computer Science.
  • A strong interest in working with undergraduate students.
  • Ability and willingness to participate in professional service and community engagement activities.
  • Willingness to engage in a variety of instructional modalities, including online instruction.
  • Willingness to actively do some scholarly work especially with undergraduate students and attend conferences appropriate to the field.
  • Ability to assist in the accomplishment of University, College, and departmental goals and strategic plans.
  • Willingness to engage in assisting the UTC campus in its ability to reach additional goals as specified in UTC’s Strategic Plan, including a demonstrable commitment to diversity and inclusion.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
