Job Description

The Flight Data & Certification Department (FD&C) is currently accepting applications for a front desk, customer service professional. Flight Data & Certification is located within the Flight Training Department and supports the Aeronautical Science undergraduate degree program. Records collected in FD&C will be submitted to the FAA, so accuracy is demanded of the position.

The first experience a customer will have with FD&C will be their interaction with this position. It is responsible for receiving students, Instructors, managers, and others into the department with the goal of meeting their needs in a professional, cheerful, courteous and efficient manner. Promptness is essential.

Duties will includes, but are not limited to verifying documentation for accuracy and completeness, Scanning documents into the imaging system as well as proper indexing and the utilization of record keeping software, and other data sources to troubleshoot and resolve student issues. Scheduling appointments, contacting students, and supporting the other staff members are essential requirements of the position. Strong computer skills are necessary. Ability to be organized in note taking so that notes can be references for the variety of processes that must be learned is essential. Meticulous business practices are required.


Associates degree preferred.

1-3 years’ progressive office experience preferred.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required; proficiency in Microsoft Access preferred.

Excellent customer service skills required.

Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently required.

Attention to detail and time management skills are critical to the success of this position.

Professional demeanor, attire, and attitude required.
