Manages a comprehensive disability plan that supports the recruitment and retention of VCU faculty and staff.

Maintains employment and leave records in an effort to streamline compliance.

Serves as an active member of the HR operations team and plays a vital role in supporting the VCU community.strategic HR initiatives.

Supports university schools and departments with maintaining accurate employment records.

Required Qualifications

Experience related to the types of duties described above.

Experience working in an office.

Ability to provide quality customer service in a professional manner, communicating clearly and confidentially, both orally and in writing, with employees at various levels within the organization and with people from diverse backgrounds.

Ability to exercise judgment, take initiative, prioritize work, meet non-negotiable time frames, and pay attention to detail in a time-sensitive, high volume work environment.

Ability to monitor reports and reconcile information.

Ability to work in a team environment with multiple and varied customers.

Basic mathematical skills.

Ability to use e-mail, spreadsheets, databases, and work processing software

Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff and student environment or commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU .

Other duties as assigned,

Preferred Qualifications

Working knowledge of a variety of HR information systems.

PMIS, BES and Banner is helpful.

Experience in HR, transactions, leave, and some benefits is helpful
