Job Summary/Basic Function

The Assistant or Associate Dean for Admissions and Student Life is responsible to lead, develop, and manage the administration of recruitment program activities and services directed toward the recruitment of students who would enroll in the Liberty University College of Osteopathic Medicine ( LUCOM ), which includes support of admissions services, AACOMAS applications, secondary applications, interviews, acceptance parameters, social, cultural, recreational, and general welfare needs of students (student life). Areas of oversight include: the medical student application and acceptance process, student recruitment outreach and interview days, student honor societies, student interest groups, student affinity groups, student ambassadors, all event planning, including orientation activities, white coat ceremony, and graduation. Coordinate the production and dissemination of university publications, such as course catalogs and class schedules, and marketing materials. The Assistant or Associate Dean for Admissions and Student Life reports to the Dean and may be assigned additional duties and projects.

Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience
• Master’s degree in related field (i.e. Student Services, Educational Administration)
• 5 years’ experience in Admissions and/or Business
• Experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously of a routine and complex nature
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications
• Strong ability to work with and learn a variety of computer systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience working in a School of Medicine student affairs office
• Advanced degree (Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, Doctor of Allopathic Medicine, Juris Doctorate, Master of Business)
• Shows initiative
• Result-oriented
• Demonstrated leadership abilities
