The Opportunity
The Chinese Studies Program seeks candidates with a strong track record in a China-related field of research in the humanities or social sciences including cultural, literary, film and media studies; history, philosophy, anthropology, sociology, politics and linguistics. The successful applicant must have a proven ability to teach Chinese language at all proficiency levels, including advanced Chinese and translation. We expect candidates to show evidence of a strong interest in interdisciplinary research and have native or near native proficiency in English and Chinese. Candidates must have previous experience of teaching Chinese language in addition to other subject areas related to Chinese Studies at the tertiary level.
The successful candidate will be expected to engage in original and innovative research and to collaborate in research, team teaching and curriculum development.
The successful applicant is also expected to undertake a share of administrative tasks within the program and/or school.
This role is a full-time position; however, flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.
