The Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Accreditation at
Old Dominion University is seeking candidates for the Institutional
Effectiveness and Accreditation Analyst (full-time, 12 month)
position. This position will provide support for University
accreditation, planning and institutional effectiveness efforts by
coordinating, managing and monitoring accreditation activities,
data collection and reporting. Other duties include: assists the
AVP for Assessment and the Vice Provost/SACSCOC Liaison with
monitoring regional and specialized accreditation policies and
procedures; overseeing data collection related to planning and
institutional effectiveness efforts; and supporting faculty and
staff with assessment activities.
Required Education: Master’s degree in social
science, business, or related area of study is required. A
bachelor’s degree in the preceding fields of study with related
work experience equivalent to a master’s degree may be
substituted.
Required Qualifications: Basic experience working
with numerical and statistical data in electronic formats. Basic
experience in using data summary and analysis techniques to prepare
reports. Considerable experience writing and editing copy.
Considerable experience in working with a very high level of
attention to detail and accuracy. Documented skill at organizing
projects and coordinating multiple tasks while meeting appropriate
deadlines. Computer skills and demonstrated competency with
spreadsheet, graphics, database, and statistical analysis software
packages. Demonstrated ability to apply strong critical thinking
skills to work tasks required; ability to apply these skills to
accomplish qualitative and quantitative data analysis tasks.
Documented effective communication, leadership and collaboration
skills to accomplish analytic and reporting tasks. Ability to write
clearly and to effectively edit the writing of others.
Preferred Qualifications: Considerable knowledge
of the policies, procedures, and principles of accreditation and
data requirements. Working knowledge of higher education policies
and practices. Considerable knowledge of social science and/or
business research methods to include data collection, sampling, and
basic statistical analysis. Working knowledge of computer-based
statistical analysis software e.g., SAS, SPSS or other. Working
experience working in a higher education setting.
