Affairs & Policy
University at Albany,
State University of New York
The Department of Public Administration & Policy at the University at Albany’s Rockefeller College of Public Affairs & Policy invites applications for a visiting assistant professor in public policy or public finance beginning fall 2021 for one year. Candidates must be strongly committed to excellence in teaching, specifically in the areas of microeconomics and statistics.
We welcome applications from candidates interested in diverse policy areas including education, environment, health, public finance, or others. Successful candidates will demonstrate a commitment to high-quality teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels. Applicants are expected to teach a 2-2 load, likely consisting of two sections of masters-level microeconomics, one section of statistics (either masters or undergraduate), and an undergraduate public policy elective based on their teaching interests and agreement with the department’s graduate and undergraduate program directors.
Applicants must have a doctorate by September 1, 2021. The successful candidate will likely have a degree in public administration, public policy, public affairs, or an allied field such as economics or public health. Additionally, applicants must 1) be willing to participate and collaborate in departmental activities involving graduate and undergraduate students and 2) possess excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively―orally and in writing―to diverse audiences.
Salary will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience and qualifications. Please apply online via https://albany.interviewexchange.com/jobofferdetails.jsp?JOBID=129051

Applicants must address in their application their ability to work with culturally diverse populations. A doctorate must be from a college or university accredited by the US Department of Education or an internationally recognized accrediting organization.
