Sarah Lawrence College invites applications and nominations for its next vice president for diversity, equity and inclusion.

Founded on progressive educational principles in 1926, Sarah Lawrence is a residential liberal arts college (approximately 1,365 undergraduate degree-seeking students; 230 graduate-level students) located on a beautiful campus in Southern Westchester County, situated within the City of Yonkers, New York State’s fourth largest city and one of its most demographically diverse and a 30-minute ride by train or car to mid-town Manhattan. Sarah Lawrence has a proud history of innovative teaching and learning and a remarkable track-record of producing high-achieving graduates who make a lasting mark on their professions and on the communities in which they live.

Reporting to President Cristle Collins Judd and serving as a key member of the president's senior staff, the vice president will serve as a visible and engaged campus and community leader. The vice president will provide leadership and strategic direction around all aspects of diversity, equity and inclusion policy and programming and oversee the College’s Title IX office.

The new vice president will be expected to build upon the recent accomplishments and momentum around diversity, equity and inclusion at the College and identify and implement strategies to address areas where opportunities for growth exist. The vice president's work will entail working collaboratively and engaging every area of the college to create an environment that is inclusive and accessible. The ideal candidate will be a powerful advocate and spokesperson, a self-starter and an expert on diversity, equity and inclusion issues. The vice president will possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, bring a global perspective, and be a builder and nurturer of collaborative relationships. A Ph.D. or other terminal degree is preferred but not required.
