Oregon Tech is seeking applications for an Assistant Professor of Communication in Department of Communication. This is a 9-month, full-time position located on the Oregon Tech campus in Klamath Falls, Oregon. This new tenure track faculty member in Communication Studies will participate in teaching the 18 credits in communication required of all Oregon Tech students. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to teach Communication Studies and Professional Writing majors. We seek a communication generalist who can teach General Education courses such as Public Speaking, Intercultural, Interpersonal, and Small Group Communication, and contribute to the Communication Studies and Professional Writing majors in the area of Mass and Visual Communication. The candidate will also be expected to advise students and participate on departmental and university committees and maintain engagement in their area of expertise in the communication discipline.
Required:
· Ph.D. in Communication
· Communication teaching experience
Preferred:
A successful candidate will be able to contribute to the
Communication Studies major in some of the following areas:
· Mass communication
· Quantitative research
· Visual communication
· Digital media production
· Journalism
· Public Relations
· Composition
