The Strome College of Business at Old Dominion University seeks highly qualified applicants for a tenure track assistant professor position in the Department of Information Technology and Decision Sciences beginning July 25, 2021.

Responsibilities: Conduct research that results in high-quality scholarly publications; 6 hours of teaching per semester while on tenure-track, including undergraduate, MBA level courses based on departmental needs; service to the university and professional community.

Minimum Qualifications - Education:

Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree with an emphasis in Business Analytics, Management Sciences, Business Statistics, Operations Management, or a related field from an AACSB accredited business school.  Ph.D. student applicants in an All-but-Dissertation (ABD) status will be considered, if and only if they can receive a qualified Ph.D. degree before the time of appointment.

Minimum Qualifications – Knowledge, Skills, and Ability:

Applicants must be capable of teaching a variety of Business Analytics, Business Statistics, Management Science, and Operations Management courses. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required for this position.

Applicants should be able to publish research articles in high-quality academic journals.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference will be given to candidates with

  • Accepted /published articles or with a well-established research pipeline;
  • Prior publications in high-quality research journals or other evidence of research potential;
  • Previous teaching experience in business analytics, operations management, and supply chain management at the college level;
  • Proficiency in Excel, R, data mining tools, mathematical programming software, data analytics, and related areas;
  • Interest in industry / business community engagement experience.
