The School of Art at Louisiana State University seeks a full-time, tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor of Printmaking to begin in academic year 2021-2022. 

The successful candidate will be an innovative and dedicated print artist and educator, with demonstrable skills in studio art and all printmaking processes, including lithography, intaglio, silkscreen, relief, and digital processes. Expertise is required in lithography, silkscreen, and the latest in digital theory, practice, technology and discourse. Candidates with research interest and commitment to safe and sustainable art practices are encouraged to apply.

The printmaking program at LSU is comprehensive and robust—fully equipped for lithography, intaglio, silkscreen, relief, digital, and the arts of the book including papermaking and letterpress. It is especially known for its large format capabilities in both papermaking and a wide variety of print processes.

Responsibilities include teaching, advising and working with undergraduate and graduate students, sustaining an active record of scholarship and exhibitions, maintaining the printmaking equipment and studios, and serving the School, College, and University on committees, and in other capacities.

Job Responsibilities:

TEACHING:  55% -- This position will teach undergraduate general education courses and courses for majors at the undergraduate and graduate level in Printmaking.

RESEARCH: 35% -- Candidate is expected to participate in scholarly and/or professional research activities.

SERVICE: 10% --  Provide services to the School, College, and University, and help in program development. Participate in student advising and mentoring.

Required Qualifications Assistant Professor:

MFA with emphasis in printmaking. Teaching experience at the university level, an active exhibition record, and an understanding of contemporary art practice and theory.

Required Qualifications Associate Professor:

MFA with emphasis in printmaking. Six years of teaching experience at the university level, an active exhibition record, and an understanding of contemporary art practice and theory.
