The University of Arkansas Medical Sciences is conducting a search for the leadership position of Vice Chancellor, Northwest Regional Campus. In this role, the Vice Chancellor will represent the Chancellor and UAMS in Northwest Arkansas and lead initiatives of the Colleges and academic programs, including interprofessional activities. The Vice Chancellor will facilitate and coordinate clinical, GME, and research activities in Northwest Arkansas. He/she will lead external affairs and collaborations with community and key stakeholders for all initiatives across the region. This individual will report to the Senior Vice Chancellor and Provost of UAMS.

Candidates for Vice Chancellor should bring skills and perspectives in academic medicine and the delivery of health care from experience at a well-regarded academic medical center or complex health system incorporating related educational programs. Experience in and enthusiasm for innovation in health care, external engagement, and collaborative partnerships will be highly valued. In addition to outstanding leadership skills, candidates should bring a spirit of entrepreneurialism and innovation to rapidly identify and implement the best of current and future health care practices to the region and state.

An M.D., Ph.D., PharmD or other relevant terminal degree and appropriate board certification required, with additional degrees, certification, or licensure desirable. Additional requirements include management experience in the administration of health care education, e.g., issues related to budgets and grants management, research development, and the operation of educational-clinical partnerships; successful experience recruiting, developing, and mentoring high-performing individuals and teams; recognized achievement in clinical, educational, and/or research; evidence of strong commitment to advancing institutional initiatives in equity, inclusion, and diversity.
