Coordinator for Curriculum Initiatives
Job Description
Under the
supervision of the Director of Curriculum Development, the
Coordinator for Curriculum Research provides college-wide
coordination of and/or support for identifying fields in which NOVA
should offer academic programs, for credit or not for credit.
- Identify emerging or expanding fields for which NOVA should consider offering credit or non-credit programs.
- Help determine courses needed for credit programs. If in an area related to an existing program, work with that program’s advisory board as well as faculty and administrators.
- Help determine general content of non-credit programs.
- Monitor the continuing need for current programs or to modify or discontinue them.
- Collaborate with Workforce Development to coordinate credit internships.
Special Assignments
May
be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to
assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an
emergency declaration by the Governor.
KSA's/Required Qualifications
- Ability to interpret data.
- Excellent writing skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects at once.
- Experience using employment databases.
- Experience turning data into information faculty and administrators can use to make decisions.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with faculty, staff and administrators.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral methods.
- Master’s degree in a field related to the position, or a master’s degree combined with appropriately related experience.
- Experience in curriculum development, review and/or research within the last five years.
- Experience with data collection, generation and usage for informing decisions within the last five years.
- Experience working in or with a community college.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of community colleges and their roles.
- Two years of work experience using data to inform decisions.
- Experience collaborating with business and industry partners.
- Experience using transfer databases.
