Lecturer of Computer Science Position Announcement (Non-Tenure Track)

The Department of Computer Science in the Lyle School of Engineering at Southern Methodist University invites nominations and applications for a 9-month full-time, non-tenure track faculty appointment at the rank of Lecturer.  We welcome candidates with broad background in computer science topics, especially artificial intelligence, machine learning, cybersecurity, systems, software engineering, or computer science education. This faculty member will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Computer Science consistent with the individual’s background.  The expected teaching load will be four courses in each regular fall and spring semester. The Department of Computer Science at SMU offers bachelors, masters, professional doctoral, and PhD degree programs spanning the fields of Computer Science, Cybersecurity, and Software engineering.

Minimum Qualifications: The successful candidate must hold a master’s degree in computer science or a closely related field by the time of appointment.

Preferred Qualifications: A terminal degree in Computer Science or a closely related field by the time of appointment. 

The position begins on or about August 1, 2021.
