Job Description:

The Jack Welch College of Business & Technology has a full-time, tenure-track faculty opening in the Management Department beginning in the academic year 2021/2022. Faculty appointment is for the Sport Management program, which offers an undergraduate bachelor's, a minor, and an exciting new minor in esports. Candidates should be comfortable with a wide-range of Sport Management courses that could include: Sport Analytics, Esports, Sport Venue & Event Management, Sport Sponsorship, and new Special Topics courses. Preference will be given to candidates who have the best potential to contribute to the program and its re-envisioned initiatives in esports, sport analytics, and technology / innovation. The position is based at the main campus in Fairfield, CT. This faculty member will primarily teach in our undergraduate program, and the position carries a 3-3 teaching load.


Requirements:

This position requires a doctorate from an AACSB accredited program, in Sport Management or a closely-related field. The ideal candidate will have an excellent teaching record or potential, and a demonstrated capability to contribute to high quality research in their field. Strong academic and career advisement will be required, and is a hallmark of the current Sport Management program.

The Jack Welch College of Business & Technology (WCBT) is AACSB-accredited, offers undergraduate degrees in Accounting, Management, Economics, Finance, Hospitality Management, Marketing, Fashion Marketing & Merchandising, and Sport Management. In addition, graduate degrees in Human Resource Management, Accounting, Finance, Business Analytics and Marketing are also offered. The WCBT also sponsors The New England Journal of Entrepreneurship, a peer reviewed journal published by Emerald.  

 

The WCBT is located at Sacred Heart University's West Campus, where facilities include state-of-the-art labs specifically designed to support research on artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data analytics, financial computation, machine learning, augmented reality/virtual reality and e-game design.
