SALARY/RANK: Commensurate with qualifications and experience. This is a tenure track position.
QUALIFICATIONS: Preference will be given to candidates who have a completed doctorate in Special Education, a minimum of five years teaching experience in a public school setting, and active public school teaching certification(s). The successful candidate should possess strong analytical and communication skills and should demonstrate an ability to work collaboratively and effectively with students and with other instructors. Candidates should demonstrate strong content expertise in special education and a certification in early childhood education is ideal. Effective teaching and advising experience, demonstrated organizational skills, and the ability to work independently are also strongly desired.
RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidate will teach twelve credit hours per semester and will be expected to perform normal faculty duties including advising at the undergraduate level; mentoring and supervising student teachers and field experiences; participating in service to the University, and effectively engaging in departmental and University collaboration. Preferred experiences include knowledge of accreditation, improvement practices at the University level, teaching a foreign language, and/or prior administrative service.
