Associate or Full Professor of Engineering Management, Information, and Systems
The Department of Engineering Management, Information, and Systems (EMIS) invites nominations and applications for an opportunity to be involved in the shaping of innovative academic programs in Operations Research, Management Science, Engineering Management, Systems Engineering, and Information Engineering. We seek outstanding candidates for an associate or full professor faculty position in areas relevant to our academic programs in industrial and systems engineering -- methodological and applied – including, but not limited to, advanced data analytics, optimization, stochastic modeling, simulation, and model-based systems engineering with applications in supply-chain, manufacturing, health-care, information, and energy.
Eligible candidates for the position (i) must have a doctoral degree in operations research, industrial engineering, or related field; and (ii) are expected to demonstrate the ability to develop and sustain a strong, externally-funded research program and help advance the frontiers of knowledge; and (iii) must have the expertise to teach courses in areas relevant to our programs at the undergraduate, masters, and doctoral levels. Eligible candidates should also have a commensurate record of research publications and external funding and an outstanding potential for further research program development and research leadership as expected from a tenured appointment.
The target appointment date is the fall semester, 2021. About the Bobby B. Lyle School of Engineering
SMU’s Bobby B. Lyle School of Engineering, founded in 1925, is one of the oldest engineering schools in the Southwest. The school offers eight undergraduate and 29 graduate programs, including master’s and doctoral degrees, through the departments of Civil and Environmental Engineering; Computer Science and Engineering; Electrical Engineering; Engineering Management, Information and Systems; and Mechanical Engineering.
