Position Description

The School of Communication and Design seeks a talented and dynamic individual with award winning advertising expertise for a tenure-track assistant professor faculty position in advertising starting August 2021 at Loyola University New Orleans.  The candidate would teach courses including the school’s advertising competition team, advertising principles and/or brand lab and other courses deemed necessary in the school’s strategic communication department. 

This individual is expected to bring cutting-edge ideas and creativity to the school, should be well versed in advertising trends, campaigns, social media, layout and design, media planning and would be expected to have an active leadership role in the advertising curriculum with particular emphasis on student recruitment, placement and an award-winning program.  This individual also would serve as faculty advisor for the school’s Advertising Club and be involved with the local chapter of the American Advertising Federation.

Required: Master’s degree and professional advertising experience.

Preferred: Ph.D. and experience teaching at the university level.
