Faculty Position in Quantitative Research Methods (open rank)

 

The George Mason University College of Education and Human Development invites applications for an open-rank tenure-line position starting in August 2021 focused on quantitative research methods. Responsibilities:

  • Teaching introductory and advanced statistics courses; 
  • Mentoring Doctoral and Master’s students; 
  • Conducting and disseminating consequential research (methodological or applied area of interest);
  • Collaborating with other faculty on projects requiring methodological expertise.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • An earned doctorate with a specialization in quantitative research methods; 
  • Strong background in quantitative methods as applied to educational, learning, social, and/or behavioral science domains of inquiry;
  • A record of (or strong potential for) significant publications and externally funded research;
  • University teaching experience, including a demonstrated commitment to mentoring students in research methods;
  • The capacity to collaborate regularly with college faculty in applying for and supporting grant-funded research.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Quantitative skills of particular relevance to applied educational research that complement the current research methods faculty, including, but not limited to, Bayesian methods, data mining and learning analytics, and complex survey data analyses.
