Accountant II

Summary

Job Purpose

The Accountant II maintains the accounting function for an organizational unit, including reconciliation of data feed, accounts review, and corrections. Ensures that all transactions are made in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and federal, state, and Baylor College of Medicine guidelines.

Job Duties

• Prepares journal entries to correct records and does monthly reconciliations.
• Processes journal vouchers.
• Prepares financial statements and major annual and monthly financial and miscellaneous reports.
• Creates new cost centers as necessary.
• Analyzes and corrects postings in the organizational unit.
• May respond to inquiries from departments.
• May provide guidance to lower level accounting employees.
• Performs other job related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Two years of relevant experience.
