The Department of Pharmacotherapy and Translational Research ( ptr.pharmacy.ufl.edu ) invites applications for a full-time (1.0 FTE), 12-month faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. The position may be in the tenure-track or non-tenure-track (Clinical) based on the qualifications of the applicant. This is an exciting opportunity to join the PTR faculty at the Jacksonville campus of the College of Pharmacy, located at the UF Health Jacksonville Medical Center ( UFHealthjax.org ).

The selected candidate will be expected to develop a program of research or scholarship/clinical practice in areas relating to health disparities and health equity. Responsibilities include teaching, scholarly pursuits, and active participation in the department and College. The successful applicant will also serve as the Jacksonville Campus Coordinator for the Office of Diversity, Inclusion, and Health Equity (DIHE) at the College of Pharmacy (0.1 FTE). In consultation with the Associate Dean and the Office of DIHE, the Campus Coordinator will provide campus-specific oversight over the implementation of the College of Pharmacy’s strategic diversity plan. At the campus, the Coordinator will help create and advance a faculty, staff, and student body that represents the economically and socially diverse state of Florida.

Tenure track: The successful candidate at the assistant professor level is expected to demonstrate strong potential for establishing a rigorous, independent and federally-funded research program. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching, mentoring, and research in an academic health center environment. Appointment as an Associate Professor requires demonstrated sustained extramural grant support, research, scholarship, and teaching proficiency consistent with an appointment to that rank at a research-intensive university. Non-tenure-track (Clinical): The ideal candidate will have a commitment to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and patient care. The faculty member will maintain an active clinical practice/teaching site. Potential clinical practice opportunities at UF Health Jacksonville include the Urban Health Alliance of Jacksonville and Total Care Clinics.

Minimum Required: Applicants should have a doctoral degree (e.g., PharmD, PhD) with post-graduate training (residency, fellowship, or equivalent experience). Excellent teaching and communication skills are essential. FDLE Criminal Background Check Required. Additional requirements for a tenure-track position include a strong potential for or demonstrated success in securing competitive research funding and a record of research accomplishments.

Preferred Qualifications: Previous teaching experience, demonstrated scholarship, and experience in mentoring students.
