The HKU-SCF FinTech Academy, with the aim to cultivate interdisciplinary research in FinTech, has established a Research Assistant Professor (RAP) Scheme, in which three Research Assistant Professors will be recruited and hosted by the Department of Computer Science, Faculty of Business and Economics, or Faculty of Law.
Applications are invited for appointment as Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science (Ref.: 503614), to commence on September 1, 2021 or as soon as possible thereafter, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal upon satisfactory performance.
The Department of Computer Science enjoys the reputation of providing high-quality education and conducting top-notch research. It offers programmes at both undergraduate and graduate levels, and has excellent computing resources and supporting facilities for teaching and research. Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree in the field of Computer Science, and have demonstrated promise of a high level of ability in research in the field of FinTech (including but not limited to Blockchain, Cyber Security, RegTech, InsurTech, WealthTech, Financial Intelligence, AI and Data Analytics).
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.
