Overview
Employment Status: Temporary, benefited MP
"exempt" position through June 30, 2022 (position may be renewed
annually based upon satisfactory job performance, availability of
work and continued funding).
Salary: $7,153.33-$9,852.08 per month,
commensurate with experience and qualifications. A comprehensive
benefit package is provided.
Work Schedule: To be arranged. Typically
Monday-Friday 8:00-5:00 pm. Some evenings and weekends as needed.
Incumbent must be able to participate in remote or on campus work
depending on the directives from the CSUSB campus.
Position Description:
Under the general direction of the Executive Director of
Operations, the Director of Reentry Operations is responsible for
establishing community stakeholder partnerships, standards, goals,
priorities, operational plans, policies, and procedures as well as
managing the flow of information internally and externally. The
Director of Reentry Operations will plan, coordinate, and organize
the FAITHS Throughcare Program's community unit with the public and
media and implement special events and community outreach and
education programs in alignment with reentry protocols.

Typical Activities
Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Oversees the public information, community stakeholder
partnerships, and reentry program of the FAITHS Throughcare
Program; aligns program goals and priorities with the FAITHS
Throughcare Program mission and strategic plan; coordinates with
the community stakeholders as appropriate.
Supervises the work of assigned staff. In conjunction with and
guidance from UEC Human Resources, evaluates work performance,
prepares and signs performance evaluations. Participates in
personnel decisions including hiring and disciplinary actions,
assists in resolving employee grievances, and approves leave
requests. May provide second-level supervision.
Develops and implements policies and procedures pertaining to
community stakeholder and reentry activities within the FAITHS
Throughcare Program.
Handles high profile incidents and exercises a high level of
independent judgement and discretion in advising executive
management on public and community relations matters. Addresses the
media, community groups, and general public on behalf of the
department regarding activities and programs.
Plans, organizes and oversees community stakeholder and reentry
events; administers public relations programs that promote the
FAITHS Throughcare Program's standing in the community;
participates in budget administration for related programs.
Prepares a variety of correspondence and reports.
Makes speeches and presentations to community groups;
represents the FAITHS Throughcare Program at meetings and
functions.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
- MA in Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, Counseling
and/or other related human service areas; actively pursuing a
licensed by the Board of Behavioral Sciences as a Licensed Clinical
Social Worker (LCSW) or a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
(LMFT).
Experience:
- At least two (2) years working with justice-involved
individuals and families in a supervisory capacity.
Additional Qualifications:
Applicants must have strong organizational, management,
leadership, interpersonal, oral and written communication
skills.
Applicants must have the ability to analyze problems and
resolve conflicts, do long-range planning and develop
implementation procedures.
Knowledge of the scientific literature on mental health and
attachment, and interpersonal attachment-based psychotherapy.
A strong background in child development, parenting, and
developmentally-appropriate, positive child guidance.
Demonstrated supervisory skills including but not limited to
employee development, team building, performance management and
ability to work with UEC Human Resources on employee-related
policies and relations.
Interpersonal skills to interact effectively with law
enforcement, executive leaders, university faculty, staff,
students, media and community members/organizations.
Ability to work with a diverse population including
communication with people from diverse cultures, ethnic
backgrounds, socio-economic levels, and educational levels.
Skilled in working independently and following through on
assignments with minimal direction.
Working knowledge of state and county policies related to
incarceration. The ability to write clear and concise reports.
Ability to work in a team setting.
Ability to handle multiple work priorities, organize work
projects and complete them in a timely manner.
Strong oral and facilitation skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working within a University setting and managing
graduate level interns.
Experience with strategic communication and media
relations
