About the Opportunity:
A Maker Space Manager is sought to work with the College of Engineering to manage and supervise student maker spaces, in support of professional engineering society projects, competitive teams, and academic-oriented projects as needed. The Maker Space Manager will be administratively responsible for the operations of the spaces including procurement of material, space scheduling and access, and all safety training.

Responsibilities:
Responsibilities will include: | maintenance and operation of instrumentation in the maker spaces including 3D printers; CNC mills/lathes; conventional machine tools; electronics/computer components | training and supervision of students, faculty, and staff as needed in the safe use of the instrumentation | maintenance of a clean and safe environment for student activities | provide guidance to students in strategies to implement project design/fabricate prototypes | develop and coordinate safety and access policies to be in line with University policies, including Environmental Health and Safety, as well as applicable policies from other governing bodies, for example EPA or OSHA.

Qualifications:
Trade school or Bachelor's Degree required, Master's degree preferred. 3-5 Years-experience managing and training in Maker Space type of environment. Experience with 3-D printing, CNC machinery, laser cutters and standard machine shop tools. Knowledge of Master CAM and CNC programming a must. Willing to work with, supervise, and mentor a diverse population of undergraduate and graduate students in an instructional shop. Must have excellent communication and organizational skills.
