The Division of Emergency Medicine at the University of Washington School of Medicine Department of Pediatrics, in partnership with Seattle Children’s Hospital, is seeking an academic pediatric emergency medicine specialist to join our vibrant and growing division. Positive factors for consideration include, but are not limited to, demonstrated experience in local and national pediatric emergency department logistics, or expertise in database analysis and management of children with medical complexity. This position will be expected to engage in Pediatric Emergency Care Applied Research Network (PECARN) investigations. This is a full-time appointment in the School of Medicine at the rank of Assistant Professor (without tenure by reason of funding). Compensation is commensurate with experience on the clinician scholar track. The position will be a full-time, multi-year appointment over a 12-month service period, July 1-June 30. Anticipated start date is October 2021.

Duties will include clinical care, research and teaching, as well as active participation in Divisional and Departmental activities. There is significant opportunity and support for academic growth and career development, leadership and educational endeavors at all levels. This individual will join a collegial academic Emergency Medicine Division, which, along with a large group of clinical pediatric physicians and an accredited PEM fellowship, cares for approximately 50,000 patients per year in a state-of-the-art Emergency Department. Participation in high quality community emergency medicine practices may be part of this new position. The Division focuses on equity, quality of care, continuous process improvement, safety, clinical standardization, education, research and academic success.
