The Director of Advancement and Alumni Relations is responsible for planning, managing and implementing activities that increase, diversify, and sustain philanthropic and alumni support for WMU-Cooley Law School. In this role, the Director identifies, develops and fosters relationships with all individual and organizational donors, including the school’s 20,0000+ alumni.  S/he is responsible for forecasting, researching and writing an annual fundraising plan to meet the school’s identified needs.  This individual also coordinates special campaigns and initiatives.  This individual will also work closely with the President and Dean, Senior Vice President, and the board of directors to ensure that all objectives in these areas are realized.

Successful candidates will possess all or many of the following qualifications and/or skills: Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree or higher preferred; CFRE credential preferred; a minimum of 5-7 years of experience in development, community outreach and alumni relations for a nonprofit organization or institution of higher education, serving in progressively responsible positions; 3-5 years of supervisory experience, preferably in a nonprofit environment; strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact positively with individuals from a variety of diverse backgrounds; the ability to work independently and as a team player, to take initiative, and to manage multiple tasks and projects at one time.
