The Center of Emphasis in Neuroscience at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso's Paul L. Foster School of Medicine invites applications for 3 tenure-track positions at the Assistant Professor or higher. Individuals with Ph.D., M.D., M.D.-Ph.D., or equivalent degree with expertise and a record of accomplishments in one or more of the following areas are invited to apply:

Assistant Professor or higher:

This position requires a Ph.D., M.D., M.D.-Ph.D., or equivalent degree in the field of biological sciences. All candidates must have a minimum of four years post-doctoral experience or equivalent and research experience in the field of neurosciences. Experience must include a strong record of peer-reviewed publications and experience in grant writing.

Experience in neuroscience research in extramurally funded programs, cellular, biochemical, molecular and genetic methods, including animal models, and/or teaching graduate and medical school students will be preferred. An emerging or established regional or national reputation is expected for the rank of associate professor or higher.

The major essential functions of the position are to build and sustain an independent, extramurally funded research program in neuroscience. A successful candidate will embrace the vision of the Center of Emphasis in Neuroscience, engage in the Center's and Department's activities, and interact with other members of the Center, Department, and Institution in a collegial, team-oriented fashion. In addition, the ideal candidate will participate in teaching team-taught courses in the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences and/or the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine, mentor medical and graduate students, and engage in academically-related public service to the academic and regional community. The candidate will ensure compliance with all applicable institutional, state and federal policies and procedures, especially those pertaining to research; adheres to all institutional and departmental policies and procedures; and demonstrates professionalism in accordance with the Paul L.
