The Skidmore College Departments of Biology and Chemistry are seeking an Academic Administrative Assistant for a full-time, 12-month position. The administrative assistant provides support to the faculty and students of the Biology and Chemistry Departments. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, welcoming and assisting people calling or visiting the departments, entering course schedule data, processing course evaluations, support in processing orders and managing deliveries, providing records management, assisting the department chairs with report preparation, supervising student workers, submitting room reservations, scheduling visits for seminar speakers and job candidates, coordinating department events, and maintaining office supplies and equipment. The position requires meticulous organizational skills, excellent interpersonal skills, careful attention to detail, the ability to take direction and work independently, decision making and problem-solving skills, the ability to maintain confidentiality, familiarity with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and basic supervisory skills.
Minimum Qualifications
The position requires an Associate’s degree or the equivalent with 2-3 years of experience.
Pay Range
$17.00 - $19.00 per hour commensurate with experience. Internal candidates may fall outside of this range and should contact Nancy Bruno with any individual pay rate questions.
