The Department now invites high calibre candidates with knowledge
of emerging phenomena such as Digitalization, Business
Sustainability, Family Business, Venture Capital, and/or China
Business for the teaching track post of Professional Consultant
(may carry a courtesy title of ‘Professor/Associate Professor of
Practice in Management’) in the field of Corporate Social
Responsibility (CSR), Strategy and Entrepreneurship for the
executive degree programmes.
The CUHK Business School first offered an executive degree
programme in 1993, aiming at nurturing top-notch management talents
to meet the needs of Hong Kong, Mainland China and the world.
It now offers a number of executive degree programmes based in Hong
Kong and Mainland China. In light of rising corporate and
managerial complexity and new challenges facing senior executives,
the Business School sees new opportunities for its executive
education degree programmes to groom the next generation of
executives who can bring and sustain competitive advantages of
enterprises regionally and globally.
Applicants should have (i) a higher degree, preferably a DBA or PhD
in any business or other related disciplines from a recognized
university; (ii) a strong and proven track record in teaching
reputable executive degree programmes; (iii) good connections with
the professional community; (iv) an international outlook and
outstanding communication and networking skills; and (v) a
long-term vision as well a strong commitment to executive
education. Familiarity with the region and management experience at
a fairly senior level will be an advantage.
The appointee is expected to deliver high-quality teaching in the
executive degree programmes and provide support to the programmes’
development in the global context. He/She will teach management
courses such as Design Thinking, Social Entrepreneurship, Corporate
Governance, Strategic Management at both undergraduate and graduate
levels (e.g. MBA, EMBA, MiM). The appointee will also provide input
for the overall success of executive education degree programmes,
enhancing the quality and reputation of the programmes, and
strengthening the connection with the profession as well as
community engagement. He/She also needs to coordinate learning
activities including internships and overseas study tours.
The appointee will be offered an appointment at the rank of
Professional Consultant and may be considered for a courtesy title
of Professor/Associate Professor of Practice commensurate with
his/her qualifications and experience. Appointment will initially
be made on contract basis for two years, renewable subject to
mutual agreement.
