Posting Number: 0600205-NC Position Type: Faculty Pools Position Title: Criminal Justice Faculty, Part-time Division/Department: Criminal Justice Location Job Summary:
This pool has been established to accept applications for possible openings for part-time instructors that may arise throughout the year. This faculty provides instruction and learning support to Criminal Justice and Juvenile Corrections students. Required Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice or related field. Will consider candidate with 27 graduate quarter hours in that field if in active pursuit of Master’s Degree or J.D. (or other criminal justice related field). A minimum of one year full-time recent work experience in police, parole/probation or criminal justice field.

Exceptions may be made for applicants who have a Bachelor’s Degree and 10 or more years experience in the Social Science, Law Enforcement or Corrections field. Applicants should have three years recent work experience (past 5 years) in police, parole/probation or criminal justice field.

Must be able to work respectfully with individuals of all cultures, backgrounds, perspectives, and abilities. Preferred Qualifications:
Recent college teaching experience; working knowledge of computer software such as Word or WordPerfect, Excel, and PowerPoint. Current Oregon DPSST’s Standards and Certification. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Requires the ability to work with staff and students.

Work is performed in a classroom setting with minimal exposure to safety or health hazards. Essential Duties:
Promote excellence in instruction through innovative instructional methods in the Criminal Justice and Juvenile Corrections programs.

Identify and meet the needs for student learning. Promote student learning and skills attainment. Work within the guiding principles of outcomes based learning.

Develop course curriculum, deliver teaching to students, assess student learning. Grade papers on time, turn in grades on time.

Work within the philosophy and mission of the college as an educator.

Advise Criminal Justice and Juvenile Corrections students as scheduled, and facilitate in their learning.

Perform assigned teaching and advising roles, to include promoting the program and student retention.

Participate as assigned in occasional department and advisory meetings

Actively engage in communication and collaboration within the Criminal Justice and Juvenile Corrections Programs.

Work on a planned schedule of professional development to attain current knowledge and practice.

Assist in departmental learning activities as assigned. Applicant Instructions:
