Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice
The Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice invites applications for a tenure track, Assistant Professor position in the Criminal Justice program to begin August 1, 2021. We are interested in candidates whose teaching and research demonstrate a critical perspective and whose areas of specialization include legal studies, research methods, policing, social justice, and/or globalization. Candidates will also be expected to teach courses in the Sociology major, and other elective courses as needed, teaching four courses (12 credit hours) per semester, as well as advising Criminal Justice majors and minors. Demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching is required. A Ph.D. in Criminology/Sociology or Terminal Degree in related field is required. Strong preference will be given to candidates with a commitment to excellence in teaching and the ability to involve undergraduates in research.
