Medical Assistant / Care Coordinator

SALARY AND BENEFITS: The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to skill, knowledge, experience, education, and credentials.
The above salary range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

PRIMARY PURPOSE: The Medical Assistant is responsible to perform a variety of health care functions to prepare patients and assist physicians in providing health care to patients.
Marginal Job Functions
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
1. Knowledge of common office procedures.
2. Knowledge of medical terminology.
3. Ability to learn a state of the art electronic medical records program.
4. Ability to interview patients and to obtain necessary medical information.
5. Ability to work efficiently.
6. Analytical and problem solving skills
7. Attention to details and high level of accuracy
8. Ability to work with confidential medical records and maintain HIPAA policy and procedure.
9. Ability to multi-task and problem solve innovatively.
10. Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment.
11. Effective time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
12. Willingness and ability to learn new skills as needed in the medical office environment.
13. Ability to collaborate with other multi-disciplinary team members.
14. Proficiency in the use of computers and office equipment.
15. Ability to work with minimal supervision.
16. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High School diploma
2. Diploma for completion of a medical assistant school or equivalent education
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. 1 year plus previous medical assistant experience (not to include externship)
2. 1 year plus experience in a primary care or internal medicine office
3. 1 year plus experience with electronic medical records.
4. Medical assistant state certification
Final applicant will be required to pass background check and drug screening.
