Assistant or Associate Professor or Lecturer, Industrial Technology
Job Description or Duties:
The Industrial Distribution program is seeking an Assistant or Associate Professor (Tenure-Track) or Lecturer to begin August 2021. Desirable candidates will have proven industry experience and credentials to teach a variety of industrial distribution topics. Course subject areas may include electricity/electronics, applied electronics, automation, spreadsheet, word processing, and automation simulation software, and/or the theory and application of other technical products found in the industrial distribution industry. Duties include teaching undergraduate courses, advising, industry relations, recruiting, seeking external funding, working with student organizations and other service as required by the University. Applicants without a doctorate will be considered for a non-tenure track lecturer position. Tenure-track faculty are expected to pursue an active scholarly agenda. To be eligible for a tenure track position, applicant will be expected to have completed a terminal (doctoral) degree in a related field.
Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA), Engineering Management, Technology Management, or another related field to be eligible for a lecturer position. Must have at least 3 years of proven industry experience. Effective communication skills is required.
Earned doctorate in business, management, marketing, technology, or related field is desired to be eligible for a tenure track position. Candidates who are ABD with substantial progress toward completion of the dissertation will be considered. Documented successful teaching ability at the university level, curriculum development, and evidence of building industry partnerships, and service to students. Evidence of scholarly activity or potential to conduct appropriate research leading to peer reviewed publication is preferred. Progressively responsible work experience in industrial distribution and/or technical sales. Expertise in one or more of the professional areas noted in the job description.
