The University fulfills its land-grant mission of transforming knowledge to practice through technological leadership and by fueling economic growth and job creation locally, regionally, and across Virginia.

Building on its motto, Virginia Tech is dedicated to InclusiveVT, the institutional and individual commitment to Ut Prosim (That I May Serve) in the spirit of community, diversity, and excellence. Virginia Tech actively seeks a broad spectrum of qualified candidates and encourages individuals across racial, ethnic, religious, gender, sexual orientation, ability, and other identities to apply.

The Black Cultural Center, founded in 1991, is one of five centers constituting the Cultural and Community Centers (CCCs) – the BCC, El Centro (Latinx center), the Asian Cultural Engagement Center, the LGBTQ+ Resource Center, and the American Indian and Indigenous Community Center.
