Job Summary/Basic Function:

Brazosport College, a two-time Top 10 finalist for the Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence and Achieving the Dream Leader College, seeks a dynamic and innovative faculty member for its Health Services Management program. The position will have program coordination responsibilities and will report to the Chair of the Division of Business Administrative and Computer Technology. The College’s Bachelor of Applied Technology program is part of that Division. The start date is August 16, 2021. The successful candidate:

  • coordinates the baccalaureate program in Health Services Management;
  • develops and teaches upper division Health Services Management courses;
  • prepares curriculum, including writing syllabi, developing new courses, selecting textbooks, etc.;
  • performs tasks for program effectiveness, including Basic Program Review and student learning assessment;
  • assists in the development of learning activities;
  • works with an external advisory committee to ensure program and course outcomes and activities are congruent with industry needs and standards;
  • assists in the advisement of students;
  • serves on various assigned college committees; and
  • supports college’s student success initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications:

The minimum qualifications for this position are:

  • Doctorate Degree in Public Health or in Healthcare Administration or related field from a regionally accredited college or university;
  • healthcare management experience;
  • demonstrated evidence of successful teaching experience;
  • excellent organization skills;
  • strong communications (oral and written) and humanrelations skills;
  • demonstrated ability working with culturally diversepopulations;
  • exceptional employment or educational qualifications maybe given special consideration as long as SouthernAssociation (SACS) minimum educational credentials aremet; and
  • other qualities, experiences, and skills that enhance one’svalue to the institution.
