The University of Indianapolis is seeking applications for a Morning Drive Radio On-Air Host and Production Assistant. This is a part-time, non-benefit eligible, non-exempt, staff position. The individual in this role will be responsible for properly operating an audio control surface in order to successfully deliver planned programming during the morning drive time period. This individual will also provide up-to the minute weather and traffic information to the listening audience through regularly scheduled live on-air announcements and assist with production tasks as needed.

This position operates Monday through Friday, 5:45 - 9:00 AM.


  • Present on-the-air traffic and weather reports multiple times each hour
  • Operate audio control surface and other equipment to facilitate program delivery
  • Ensure accurate broadcasting of syndicated programming
  • Maintain program and operating logs while in the role of operator on duty
  • Comply with all applicable Federal Communications Commission rules and regulations
  • Monitor and respond appropriately to Emergency Alert System activity
  • Participate on-the-air and behind the scenes in station pledge/membership drives
  • Produce daily promos and coordinate production of other necessary elements


  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Two years of radio on-air and production experience, preferably in public radio, required
