Job Description
Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University seeks an energetic and collaborative Manager of Multimedia who can artfully blend a message with video and photography to inform, educate, engage and inspire a broad audience.
The Manager of Multimedia leads the multimedia production team, taking responsibility for creating content that engages the general public, industry partners, alumni, news media and others. S/he has deep knowledge of pre-production planning, production management and post-production with Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects and Photoshop. S/he is familiar with the technical requirements of social media and mobile-first platforms with proven experience in both short-form and mid-form videos in a range of styles, for marketing and public relations. The position also leads and mentors a skilled multimedia team and group of student workers. The successful candidate is a driving force behind our current multimedia team – helping craft and assign innovative and creative pieces to support news coverage; philanthropy; government and industry relations; thought leadership; and brand awareness. Reporting to the Executive Director of Digital Strategy in Information Technology, s/he collaborates with the Enrollment Marketing and Digital Strategy department and campus and university leadership to execute comprehensive marketing and communications efforts that integrate multimedia in a strategic and meaningful way.

Primary responsibilities include:
- Lead the day-to-day management of video production for all
digital channels, working collaboratively with other team members
and external freelancers, ensuring that photography and video
resources are dedicated to the university’s highest priorities.
Supervise, evaluate and mentor department staff, student workers
and freelancers.
- Develop themes for multi-faceted projects and individual
concepts and determine appropriate mediums and effective use of
resources. Write provisional scripts, incorporate feedback and edit
accordingly. Communicate appropriately with the team and
stakeholders throughout all phases of project, tracking work and
coordinating assigned projects to achieve successful results.
- Film interviews with university administrators, alumni,
students, faculty, staff and other supporters. Produce and edit
in-house videos, including but not limited to social media videos,
b-roll packages, short interviews and special marketing and
philanthropy campaign videos.
- Oversee work product and project management for multimedia
producers and student workers.
- Work with executive director to develop annual team budget and
determine ongoing equipment and software needs.
- Identify professional development opportunities for staff and
obtain appropriate team training as needed.
- Stay current on trends and relevant innovations in creative
campaigns, video and marketing.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in film, multimedia, video production, motion graphics, marketing, journalism, communications, public relations or a related field, preferred. Other relevant training/education will be considered.
- Five to 10 years of professional video production experience with a portfolio of creative work.
- Excellent script-writing ability and strong editorial and storytelling skills.
- Experience with video color correction and sound mixing.
- Experience sourcing and hiring film crews and additional vendors for special projects when needed.
- Proven experience with short videos suited for social media.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with all levels of staff and administration.
- Knowledge of digital video and still formats as well as compression standards.
- Digital asset management experience.
- Understanding of public relations and marketing storytelling to write scripts, craft interview questions and actively engage with subjects.
- Ability to multitask and determine priority projects/assignments.
- Ability to think critically and independently and inspire staff and colleagues.
- General interest and dedication to the mission of Embry-Riddle.
- Ability to maintain the highest degree of confidentiality.
- Ability to travel as needed.
