A postdoctoral fellow position is immediately available in the laboratory of Dr. Peter Hamilton in the Department of Anatomy and Neurobiology at Virginia Commonwealth University, School of Medicine. The primary responsibility of this position will be to conduct studies directed at understanding the brain-region specific transcription factors most associated with volitional stimulant and opiate self-administration, in rodents. These studies will involve a combination next-generation sequencing, viral-mediated gene transfer, and drug self-administration in mice.

Required Qualifications

PhD graduates with strong background and expertise behavioral pharmacology, drug neurobiology, and working with mouse models are encouraged to apply.

Preferred Qualifications

Qualifications Candidates who are eligible for NIH -sponsored training grants are preferred.
