TheSocial Sciences Divisionat St. Catherine University invites applications for anAdministrative Assistantposition. This is a regular, full-time position.

TheSocial Sciences Divisioncomprises the Communication Studies, Critical Studies of Race and Ethnicity, Economics & Political Science, Women’s Studies, and Psychology departments. This position will act as administrative liaison and facilitator to the Social Sciences Division Chair, faculty, and students in the Social Sciences Division and the Honors Program.


  • Create letters, forms, spreadsheets, charts, graphs, brochures and certificates using Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
  • Troubleshoot problems and research answers to questions, as well as explain the solution in a clear and concise manner
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive student and faculty information
  • Post syllabi and grades, input tests, retrieve and print student papers
  • Verify students’ eligibility to graduate, proctor classes or tests as requested, and ensure exams for students with disabilities are available
  • Assist faculty members by ordering textbooks, requesting videos
  • Schedule departmental meetings, reserve conference rooms, request catering, and take meeting minutes
  • Assist Division Chair by providing faculty with office space, access to computer and telecommunications keys, and textbooks
  • Coordinate and schedule online faculty evaluations
  • Communicate respectfully and build relationships of trust with people of all cultures and abilities, affirming the worth and preserving the dignity of individuals, families, and communities.
  • Flexibility and willingness to adapt schedule or assume additional responsibilities on a daily basis
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Experience working in an administrative support role
  • Experience using Microsoft Office, Zoom and Google Suite
