Position Summary

Neuropeptide research group seeks highly motivated personnel to engage in a multifaceted approach. The main aim of our laboratory is to elucidate the CNS role of a novel neuropeptide system. Research will encompass the use of behavioral pharmacological techniques and knockout models, in addition to mammalian cell culture.

Specific duties include
• Working with rodents, transgenic mice colonies, animal care, genotyping
• Running of behavioral experiments
• Maintenance of databases
• Preparation of brain tissue sections
• Assistance with general laboratory management and maintenance of a safe working research environment.

The candidate should be familiar with computers and the use of Microsoft Office Software and PowerPoint. The successful candidate will work under the direction of senior research personnel.

Minimum Qualifications

Education related to Health Sciences and at least one year of experience directly related to behavioral pharmacology.

Preferred Qualifications

Research experience in the handling and use of animals and histological techniques (e.g. immunohistochemistry) highly preferred. Experience and/or an interest in molecular methods and experience in small rodent surgical methods would be an advantage.
