Responsibilities:
Reporting directly to the Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Engineering Enrollment Management and Retention, the Program Coordinator works in the College of Engineering Undergraduate Enrollment Outreach Office supporting the Assistant Deans responsible for enrollment, outreach, scholarship, and retention. Working in close collaboration with Undergraduate Academic Advisors, the First Year Engineering Program, and academic departments, this individual will be an integral part of the effort that plans, oversees, and provides Supplemental Instruction for undergraduate engineering students. This position provides critical support for current undergraduate students with the goal of maximizing independent learning and supplementing instruction received in the classroom. Key responsibilities include:
  • Coordinate and schedule first-year tutoring, including training and assessment.
  • Coordinate and schedule Chemistry and Physics review workshops, including training and assessment.
  • Coordinate and schedule upper-class tutoring, including training and assessment. Involves working with departments and student organization.
  • Track and report all tutoring and workshops, assess efficacy, analyze trends and success.
  • Implement new programs in consultation with Assistant Deans.
  • Assist in managing and coordinating COE enrollment and outreach events such as Summer Bridge, Women in Engineering, etc.
  • Responsible for budget tracking and administration of these programs.

Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree is required. A minimum of 2 years of experience in higher education or counseling required; prior teaching and/or tutoring experience preferred. Must possess strong analytical and critical thinking skills together with orientation to detail and excellent organizational abilities. Proven capability to manage/prioritize multiple projects together. Excellent interpersonal communication skills, with a focus on undergraduate engineering students, but also in professional communications with faculty and staff. Seeking a self-motivated individual that has excellent verbal and written communication skills.
