The Division of Neonatology, Department of Pediatrics at the University of Washington/Seattle Children’s Hospital is seeking a full-time neonatologist to join our faculty as an Assistant Professor, without tenure by reason of funding,  or Associate Professor, without tenure by reason of funding, on the Clinician-Scholar track. Academic rank at the time of appointment is commensurate with experience and qualifications. The position will be a full-time, multi-year appointment over a 12-month service period, July 1-June 30. Anticipated start date - Summer 2021. This is an exceptional opportunity for a neonatologist who wishes to spend time in clinical care, education, and to participate in scholarship at an outstanding academic center, as all University of Washington faculty on the Clinician Scholar track engage in service, teaching, and research. Our Division has three primary areas of research focus: bench to bedside neonatal neuroprotection/neuroscience, simulation as an educational and clinical competency tool, and global neonatal-perinatal health. We also have an outstanding ethics program at the Treuman Katz Center for Pediatric Bioethics.

The Division of Neonatology has an outstanding fellowship training program, robust clinical/translational and basic research, and provides clinical care at two academic level IV NICUs and several regional level III NICUs. Our mission is to improve the outcome of pregnancy by advancing neonatal scholarship, educating the next generation of neonatal caregivers, and by providing outstanding evidence based neonatal clinical care. All our faculty contribute to this mission.

The Seattle-Tacoma/South Puget Sound region is widely recognized as one of the most desirable locations in the US to live and work, with a wide spectrum of cultural, educational, and sporting events, and with year-round recreational opportunities for boaters, hikers, bikers, and skiers—to name but a few!
