Position Description
The University of Washington, Department of Pediatrics and the Division of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine (PCCM) invites applications for two positions as full time Assistant Professor, without tenure by reason of funding, on the Faculty-Scientist pathway. This is a 12-month service period position (July 1 - June 30) with an anticipated start date of Summer 2021. All University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service.
Responsibilities will include directing patient care as an attending physician in the pediatric intensive care units at Seattle Children’s Hospital and/or Harborview Medical Center, teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows, and participation in quality improvement/patient safety/health equity activities of the Pediatric Critical Care Medicine Division. This position is expected to maintain extramural funding to support the development of an independent research program.
Qualifications
Successful candidates will have earned an MD, DO (or foreign equivalent), completed both a residency in pediatrics and fellowship in pediatric critical care medicine, and are board certified or eligible in pediatric critical care medicine. The successful faculty member must have a well-defined scholarly focus.
In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
